We offer NSW General Boat Driving Licence (GBL) and Personal Watercraft (PWC) Licence theory training courses with examinations in our training centre at Lemon Tree Passage on the Tilligerry Peninsula in the Port Stephens - Great Lakes Marine Park.
The GBL course runs for 5 hours, usually on the third Saturday of the month at 8:30 AM, we also offer 5:00 PM Wednesday evening courses in the busy months. The cost is $165 payable in cash or credit card. Cost for those aged over 12 and under 16 is $145, note - attendees must be at least 12 years old.
The PWC course runs for 2 hours, usually on the third Saturday of the month after the GBL course at 1:30 PM, this allows you to sit both courses and exams on the same day. The cost is $50 payable in cash or credit card.

It is recommended that all applicants read the NSW Government Boating Handbook and take the online boating knowledge quiz before attending
In addition to this course before receiving a licence applicants will need to complete a Boat driving licence practical logbook available from Service NSW. This requires at least 3 trips to be logged along with hands on exercises. Marine Rescue NSW cannot provide on-water practical testing.
